White House Tour Information

The White House Visitors Office recently announced it was suspending all tours and tour requests as of Saturday, March 9, 2013 until further notice. They are no longer accepting requests to tour the White House, nor have they provided our office with the date that they plan to resume tours of the building. This applies to all current and past requests that may be pending at this time. It is most disappointing that the President has undertaken this action.

I apologize for any disruption this may cause. Unfortunately, the tour program is completely controlled by the President and White House staff, so my office does not have any control over their decision to suspend tours of the building. For updates regarding this situation, please feel free to call the White House Visitors Office’s 24 hour hotline at (202) 456-7041.

If you have any additional questions about possibly rescheduling your tour in the future, or any possible alternative locations to visit during your trip to Washington, DC, please feel free to contact Sam Beaver in my office at (202) 225-4315.

The U.S. Capitol Building will continue to be open for tours should you wish to visit the Capitol instead. My staff will be happy to schedule a tour for you.
